Rebirth Not Pushed Back Again, Still Coming February.

Lil Wayne’s Rebirth has seen constant delays over the past year, but for once, the album is not being pushed back.

Contrary to reports that it had been moved to June, the rapper’s oft-delayed foray into rock is still scheduled for release on February 2, Universal Motown confirms to Rap-Up.com. Exactly one week later on February 9, Wayne is likely to be sentenced and report to prison for almost a year on gun charges.

Rebirth surfaced online when it was prematurely shipped to around 500 Amazon.com customers last month. The final tracklisting may change due to the leak.

The Chris Robinson-directed video for “On Fire” premiered yesterday and “Drop the World,” Weezy’s collaboration with Eminem, debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

Eminem's Relapse 2 Set To Drop In March, Detox Set To June's Release

Rumor is Eminem’s upcoming album "Relapse 2" is coming in March.

The following are rumors that have substantial evidence and reliable sources behind them.

Insider sources report that Interscope is targeting a March release for Relapse 2 because March is the end of the second quarter for the fiscal year. It is similar to how Refill was released on December, which is the last month of the first quarter of the fiscal year. These release dates are strategically planned to make shareholders and the big wigs happy with their quarterly results. Interscope is going to use January to sell Refill as much as they can. Then news and promotion for Relapse 2 should begin kicking around when February comes around.

It makes sense why they would pick March too. February is way too crowded with albums, and Interscope still needs time to start a promotion campaign for Relapse 2. Other than Chamillionaire, Memphis Black, and a few other albums, Eminem won’t have too much competition to worry about in the month of March. I would like to also mention that there was a music video shot in late December for Relapse 2. That music video is going through post production right now. Expect to see the music video and first single sometime in February.

We are sticking by our guns when we say that Relapse 2 will be a more traditional hip hop album that tries to appeal to black people’s tastes when it comes to rap music. Eminem and Interscope realize that whites will buy Relapse 2 without hesitation. But Interscope is eyeing that black audience, and they pushed Eminem very hard to make Relapse 2 into something that blacks would find more appealing. I still think it would be a big mistake for Interscope to release the album as “Relapse 2″ because the album is substantially different from Relapse 1.

Oh and from what I am hearing, Interscope is pushing Dr. Dre to bring Detox out in June. Whether that happens or not, who knows. But Interscope feels the album would be perfect for a summer release. They feel Detox fits with summer time like a glove. June gives Interscope time to release multiple singles for Detox between May and August to keep the momentum going strong for the album. It also gives The Game’s R.E.D. album and Eminem’s Relapse 2 some time to build hype toward Detox’s release.

So yeah, based on what I know, Eminem’s Relapse 2 is slated for a March release. Dr. Dre’s Detox is slated for a June release.
